Product Description: Meoded Velvet Base is a specialty undercoat that is the required base for Pearlas Velvet Decorative Metallic Finish.Velvet Base is infused with minerals which makes the surface more absorbent than ordinary flat paint or primer, and is necessary to create a layered effect similar to a Venetian Plaster finish. |

Preparation:

Application: After adequate surface preparation is complete and dust is removed from surface, apply two coats of Velvet Base with short hair nap roller and let dry for a minimum of four hours between coats. If you feel the material is too heavy, it can be diluted with clean water by up to 10%. Ensure complete and even coverage to make sure the finish looks uniform in richness throughout entire surface.
Second of Velvet Base can be rolled and then made smooth with a stainless steel trowel while drying which helps minimize sanding.
Once second coat is dry, sand smooth with 220 grain sand paper or finer.

Coverage: 50-65 sq ft with 2 coats per quart; depending on surface and texture.
